







Volunteers are a vital part of CCA and we appreciate any time that they can give.
Volunteers provide many extra services that supplement the essential functions of the CCA staff. As a volunteer, you serve our patrons in a useful, vital capacity.
Please take a few minutes to look over the following options and let us know what areas of volunteering you are interested in.
Ushering:
Duties include, but are not limited to: greeting patrons at the entrances, checking tickets, passing out programs, seat directing, helping with ADA guests, and answering questions like locations of concessions, restrooms, elevators & exits. Ushers also answer general questions about the performance halls, building facts, and upcoming events. Ushers ensure that fire exits are clear and unlocked. In case of emergency, they help people leave the theatre in a safe, calm, and orderly manner.
Ushers have additional responsibilities that fall in the realm of customer service. For instance, they often help patrons search for lost items, keep unruly people under control, and ask people sitting in the wrong seats to move. It is important to remind patrons to turn off cell phones and beepers during all events. When disorderly people do not heed the warnings of an usher, a head usher or security guard may be called in. We require all ushers to attend a two-hour orientation to get acclimated with the facility. Our next orientation is scheduled for August 2010. Please RSVP to christine.waxstein@claytonartscenter.com if you plan to attend.
Special Events:
Including private fundraisers and invitation only gatherings. Duties consist of greeting attendees, mingling & promoting the Center.
Administrative:
Duties include labeling, stuffing envelopes, data entry.
Gift Shop:
Anticipated opening in June 2010. Hours of operation will be Mon-Fri, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Duties include the selling of merchandise and inventory regulation.
Marketing:
Aka the “street team”. Duties include distributing marketing materials throughout the community.
Galleries:
Duties include taking care of exhibits and answer visitor questions.
How to Volunteer:
