WDVX World Class Blugrass featuring Del MCCoury Band and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver

Be a part of our live studio audience and get your fix of finger picking and fiddling at the WDVX World Class Bluegrass Show!
The second season of the popular concert series kicks off with two of the most beloved and acclaimed bands on today’s bluegrass scene and a rising star who is sure to impress. For fifty years, Del McCoury's music has defined authenticity for hard core bluegrass fans. He has won 31 IBMA awards including Entertainer of the Year four consecutive times. The Del McCoury Band is comprised of an incredible cast of musicians including Del's two sons Ron and Robbie. They are currently touring in support of their 2013 release The Streets of Baltimore, an album that has received high praise from critics and fans alike. Joining The Del McCoury Band is another living legend, Doyle Lawson. Considered a cornerstone of the bluegrass tradition for over 40 years, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver offer goosebump-inducing harmonies blended seamlessly with impeccable musicianship. With nearly 40 albums to their credit, their latest offering Roads Well Traveled delivers what fans have come to expect from this bluegrass powerhouse, originality steeped in tradition. Rounding out this star studded bill is Jesse Gregory and Faultline, a home town girl who is making a big splash in the new music scene with a vocal prowess that unmatched by her contemporaries.

Del McCoury Band

Vince Gill says it simply, and maybe best: “I’d rather hear Del McCoury sing ‘Are You Teasing Me’ than just about anything.”

Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver

With nearly 40 albums to their credit, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver have multiple Grammy, Dove, ICM, IBMA and SPBGMA Award nominations, and are 7-time winners of IBMA’s Vocal Group of the Year. Lawson is reigning SPBGMA Mandolin Player of the Year, and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are the reigning Inspirational Country Music Association (ICM) Vocal Group of the Year, crowned in October 2012 at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, on the heels of Lawson’s induction into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame at the Ryman Auditorium on September 27, 2012.
